Entering Canada Sunday evening. Maid Of The Mist Pictures. We went on that boat!!! The bottom picture is from the boat looking at the NY side of the falls. Canada side we got drenched, so couldn't get the camera out for a close up. It was so windy, "rainy" and wavy. It was like being out in a storm. It was very hard to keep your balance.
Wow, what a fun vacation. We totally wore ourselves out. We left Sunday for Niagara Falls. We split the drive into two days. The first day, we drove to my mom and dad's in Mansfield, Ohio, about 5 and a half hours. We visited them for a few hours (until about 2 am) before heading to our hotel. We then met them for breakfast before heading out Monday around noon. We ran into a lot of construction on the way on I-90. Driving through Ohio really slows you down, driving 65 mph. Geez. Made it through Pennsylvania. Kids thought it was kinda weird paying to drive on i-90 in New York. We finally got a hotel around 9:00 that evening and then went to eat at Hard Rock Cafe. Mariah has started a collection of Hurricane glasses from the HRCs that we've been to. We've got one from San Francisco, Louisville, Gatlinburg, Niagara Falls. I've been to Atlanta, Chicago and Atlantic City as well. I guess we could "order" one from those. And believe it or not, we still haven't been to the HRC in Indianapolis. Pictures won't upload dammit... After that, we went to the House of Lego Bricks. Lots of really neat stuff in there including a full replica of the Falls. Rode the Sky Wheel as well. It's a Ferris Wheel with "enclosed" air-conditioned pods. Got back to the hotel room after 1 am. Tuesday was Falls day. We went on the "Maid Of The Mist" boat ride up to the falls. That was really cool!!! We got totally drenched. It was nice because it was "34" degrees Celsius. After that we headed back to the hotel for a late afternoon nap. A few hours later we went to do all the stuff from our Family Fun pack that we bought, which included a Hollywood Wax Museum, A Virtual Roller Coaster ride. Played pool and ate at Boston's Pizza. That was really good. We did a "Black Light" Putt-Putt golf course in which Kourtney "blewout" one of her flip-flops. Once again, it was after midnight to get back to our hotel room. Got up and left the next morning, around 11:30 to drive back to my mom and dad's house. Stopped by there and visited some more. We got up the next day and drove to Findlay to visit my sister and niece and nephew. Headed back to Terrible Hole around 3, but didn't get home until 10:45. Ran into lots of road construction, an accident which routed us to US 40, then a High Speed Chase in the opposite direction. We stopped in Cloverdale to eat Subway and get gas. Took us 7 hours to drive 300 miles... Got home to an 83 degree house since the air went out the day we left. Good to be home. Now I just gotta figure out why I can't get these pictures to upload. We got the air fixed about an hour ago and what a difference!
