Nine Months to the Day
Today was a pretty big running milestone for me. Jacki and I ran 12 miles today, the most I've run since I got a stress fracture in my sacrum. February 25th was when it happened, a typical 14 mile training run. But it was cold, raining, with still an inch of snow on the ground in some places. This was not a good combination. It was about 6 miles into our run when I slipped on the rain soaked snow which really jarred me. I didn't fall down, but from that point on to the end of the run, I had severe pain in the entire right side of my pelvic area. By the time I got done with the run and drove home, I could barely get out of the car and could barely move for two days. So, it's kind of ironic that today was a similar day weather wise, cold, rainy and a little breezy, although, no snow on the ground. I do have some tenderness and tightness in my injury site, but it has been a slow process rebuilding strength balance and flexibility. So that gives me 37 miles for the week. Next week will have to be a little conservative.
I just found out today that Incubus is releasing a new live DVD "Look Alive". I'll have to see about getting that for Christmas. My upper body is still kind of sore from playing Mario and Sonic at the Olympics.
